Can Undocumented Immigrants "Go Home and Get in Line"? / Visas migratorias ¿Dónde comienza la fila?

In the latest issue of the Chatham County Line, I explore this question. The newspaper circulates in Chatham County, North Carolina home to Siler City which claims to be the first community in North Carolina that is majority Latino.

The short answer to the question? As always, "it depends." Some visas are more readily available than others, and the United States issues remarkably few visas of the kind relevant to construction workers, seasonal agricultural laborers and others who often count among the nation's undocumented residents. For these folks, there is no readily accessible line.
